Analyzing Transcendental Functions
This unit begins with a study of exponential and logarithmic functions with a foundation of the rules of exponents. Exponential functions can be used to describe growth and decay. The graphs of sine and cosine functions and other transcendental functions can be compared to right triangle trigonometry. Finally, transcendental functions can be compared and contrasted with algebraic functions. In the following unit, inverse functions will be examined more closely. In calculus, the derivatives of exponential and logarithmic functions can be found.
